Obituary of Mellnette Herringshaw

SALISBURY – Mellnette Herringshaw, 85 of Cemetery Road, Stratford, NY (Town of Salisbury) passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, NY. She was the beloved wife of Herman E. Herringshaw who passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016. She was born on May 24, 1931 in the Town of Minden, NY the daughter of the late Frank & Mellnette (Scott) Van Dycke. She was educated in Fort Plain schools. On May 28, 1955 she was united in marriage to her husband of 61 years Herman E. Herringshaw in the Town of Salisbury. Mrs. Herringshaw was employed for over 35 years in the production department of the former Daniel Green Co., Dolgeville, NY. She is survived by her sons, Frank Herringshaw and his wife Sheree, Dolgeville, David Herringshaw and his fiancé Lorraine Elwood, Mohawk, Roger Herringshaw and his wife Marilyn, Heber Springs, Arkansas and Ronald Herringshaw and his wife Darlene, Fort Plain, her grandchildren, Brett Herringshaw, Carrie Rockwell, Eric, Amber, Allan, Brian, Jeffery, Andrew, Jarred, Scott, Derick and Kimberly Herringshaw, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ted, Howard, Bill, Dan and Leonard Van Dycke and four other infant brothers and by a granddaughter, Heather Herringshaw. Spring graveside services will be held at Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Town of Salisbury in the spring of 2017 at a time and date to be announced. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Herringshaw be considered to the Bassett Medical Center, 1 Atwell Rd., Cooperstown, NY 13326. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
