Obituary of Robert H Daniels

LITTLE FALLS – Robert H. Daniels, 96, a lifetime resident of Little Falls and since August of 2016 a resident of the Masonic Care Community, Utica, NY passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at that residence. He was born on May 23, 1920 in Little Falls the son of Philip and Emma (Schmidt) Daniels, He was a graduate of Little Falls High School. On August 15, 1942 he was united in marriage to his wife of 58 years the former Dorothy Wafer at Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Dorothy Daniels predeceased him on November 29, 2000. Robert was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army. He entered the service on April 22, 1942 in Utica, NY. He was honorably discharged as a Technician Fourth Grade on November 15, 1945 at Ft. Dix, NJ. He was a member of the former Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls. He was also a member of the S/Sgt. Steve Stefula Post # 4612 VFW, Little Falls. Robert was employed as a Machine Tender at Burrows Paper Corp. (Mill Street), Little Falls for 38 years before retiring in 1985. This followed several years of employment at Felt Shoe Co. He is survived by his children, Sandra Lederer and her husband Edward, Prospect, KY; Robert R. Daniels and his wife Donna, Little Falls; James A. Daniels and his wife Carmen, Mableton, GA.; his grandchildren Elizabeth Lederer Adams (Ronald), Rebecca Lederer Maddux (Will), Katherine Lederer, Erica Daniels Marciano (Michael) and Matthew Daniels; eight great grandchildren and several nephews; his cousin Flavia Lincoln of New Hartford and her children Cathy, Todd, Peter, Jill and Lori. He was predeceased by his sister, Elsie McGaffick in 1998 and by his brother, Richard J. Daniel in 2003. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls in the spring. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY.
