Obituary of Nicholas J Turturo

LITTLE FALLS – Nicholas J. Turturo, 75 formerly of Little Falls and more recently of Albany, NY passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Albany. He was born on February 10, 1941 in Little Falls, the son of the late Frank and Rose (Malagisi) Turturo. He was educated in Little Falls Schools. On June 13, 1970 he was united in marriage to his wife of 26 years, the former Marion (Grose) Janezic of Little Falls. Mrs. Turturo predeceased him on May 19, 1996. Mr. Turturo was a veteran, serving in the US Army, having entered the service on September 9,1965. He was honorably discharged on September 8. 1971. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Loudonville, NY and the American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls. Mr. Turturo was employed as a machine operator for Life-Savers, Beech-Nut, and finally Salada Tea, Little Falls where he retired. He is survived by his son, Nicholas Johnson, of Herkimer NY, a stepson, Joseph Janezic and his wife Kathy Dunn of Plymouth, MA, a stepdaughter, Marilyn Knarvik and her husband Rev. John Knarvik, Albany, his brother Joseph Turturo, Little Falls, grandchildren, Nyssa (Richard Wilson) Knarvik, Natalie (Richard) Mantey, Kelsey (Robert) Lyons, Angel, Nathaniel and Nicholas (Kara) Johnson, Joseph (Amy), Jonathan, Kyle, and Kristof Janezic, great grandchildren, Caroline and Emily Janezic and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Frances Fehner. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. with his son in law the Rev. John Knarvik officiating. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Turturo be considered to the Salvation Army, 431 Prospect St., Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
