Obituary of Jennie S Giachetti
MOHAWK – Jennie S. Giachetti, 94 formerly of Military Road, Town of Salisbury as well as of Greenwood Terrace, Mohawk passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer where she had been a resident since October of 2014. Prior to Valley Health she was a resident of the Mohawk Homestead for several years.
She was born on December 24, 1922 in the Town of Little Falls, NY the daughter of the late Andrew and Jennie (Poseta) Korce. She was educated in Jacksonburg Rural and Mohawk Central Schools.
On June 8, 1946 she was united in marriage to Armond Giachetti at St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls. Mr. Giachetti predeceased her on October 31, 1991.
Mrs. Giachetti was a communicant of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls and of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. She was also a member of the S/Sgt. Steve Stefula Post # 4612 VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she had served as President at one time.
She was employed for 33 years as an Inspector for the former Daniel Green Co., Dolgeville retiring in 1996.
She is survived by her son, Gary Giachetti and his wife Phyllis, Little Falls, her daughters, Susan Farley, Frankfort, Colleen Kuzniak, Herkimer and Laurie Landry, Mohawk, her brother, Andrew Korce and his wife Teresa, Mohawk, her sister in law, Rose Giachetti, Herkimer, seven grandchildren Thomas Farley, Julie Wine, Michael Farley, Joseph, Stephen, Matthew and Nicole Landry, seven great grandchildren, Jonathon and Ausitn Wine, Elliana, Trent, Delilah and Leisha Farley and Eric Jackson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John Korce.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main and John St.’s, Little Falls, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Terence Healy. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours.
