Obituary of Robert J Kelleher, Jr.
LITTLE FALLS – Robert J. Kelleher, Jr. 63 of State Route 169, Little Falls passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 17, 2017 after being stricken at home.
He was born on October 25, 1953 in Little Falls; the son of the late Robert J. and Marion (Weaver) Kelleher, Sr. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School.
He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army.
On September 18, 1976, he was united in marriage to his loving wife of 40 years the former Karen F. Murphy at St. Mary’s Church, Middleville.
He was a member of the former Little Falls Moose Lodge where he served as Treasurer for several years. He was also a lifetime member of the NRA.
For many years, Bob worked alongside his father in the operation of the family business, Kelleher’s Implements, in the Town of Little Falls until 1992. He was later employed by Deanna Suchowij and the Maple Hill Creamery in the operation of both Middleville dairy farms. He was currently employed as a machine operator for the Remington Arms, Co., Ilion for the past 5 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife Karen, his cherished sons; Patrick Kelleher and his wife Allison, who was like a daughter to him, of Hampton, VA; Joseph Kelleher of Herkimer and Robert Kelleher of Schuyler; three granddaughters, who were his pride and joy, Katelyn, Emily and Ashlyn Kelleher; his sisters, Mary Daley of Mohawk, Ann Monahan and her husband John of Fredericksburg, VA and Ruth Boepple and her husband Frank of Little Falls; his mother-in-law, Helen Murphy of Fairfield. His aunt Marion Scanlon and several nieces and nephews, cousins and many good friends. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Jennifer Lynn Kelleher in 1990; his parents, Robert and Marion Kelleher Sr. in 1998 and 2008 respectively; his father in law, Robert Murphy; his uncle, Francis Kelleher in 2016 and brother in law, Edward Daley in 2007.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm at St. Johns Cemetery, Newport, NY
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours.
