Obituary of Anne W. Watkins

CONWAY, SC – Anne W. Watkins, 96 of Conway, SC formerly of Highland Ave, Little Falls, NY passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Conway Manor Nursing and Rehab. Center. She was born on June 29, 1921 in Westford, MA the daughter of the late Harry and Martha (Grant) Whiting. She was a graduate of Greenville High School Class of 1938, Delhi University class of 1942 and Syracuse University class of 1967 where she received her Bachelors in Elementary Education. She was united in marriage to her husband of 35 years A. Roy Watkins on May 30, 1947 at the United Methodist Church, Little Falls. Mr. Watkins predeceased her on October 23, 1982. Mrs. Watkins was a member of the United Methodist Church Little Falls/Herkimer and held various offices in the church. She was also a member of the Rock City Chapter # 272 OES, Little Falls serving as Matron in 1961 as well as a member of the Little Falls Lady Elks, Little Falls Hospital Guild and the NYS Retired Teachers Assn. For 23 years Mrs. Watkins taught elementary school for the Herkimer Central School District, retiring in 1983. She is survived by her son Brad Watkins, Conway, SC, her daughter and son in law, Tracy and Frank DeDomenick, Myrtle Beach, SC and several nieces, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jean Whiting and Marilyn Reynolds and a brother, “Bud” Whiting. Graveside services will be held at Dolgeville Cemetery, Dolgeville, NY at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 17, 2017. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY.
