Obituary of Richard B Mosher

LITTLE FALLS – Richard B. Mosher, 68, of Schalls Hollow Road, Little Falls, NY (Indian Castle) passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Albany Medical Center, Albany, as of a result of injuries sustained in an accident on Friday, May 18, 2018 in the Town of Stark. He was born on July 17, 1949 in Little Falls, the son of the late Leonard and Sophia (Bednarski) Mosher. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1967 and went on to further his education at Machinist Trade School and Mohawk Valley Community College in Mechanical Engineering. On May 27, 1972 he was united in marriage to the love of his life of 45 years, the former Mary H. Shwiler at St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls. A member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls, where he served as a member of the church Finance Committee, he was also a member of the Owls’ Club, Danube, Elk’s Lodge # 42 B.P.O.E., Little Falls, Board of Directors of the Little Falls Community Chest, the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper, the Board of Directors of the Danube Snow Drifters and Shu-Maker Mt. Climbers Snowmobile Clubs, the Salisbury Ridge Runners Club, served as Vice President of Local # 1200, United Paper Workers Union, formed the Town of Danube Cemetery Board and organizes the annual cemetery clean-up day in the Town and served as the past Chairman of the Town of Danube Cemetery Board. Mr. Mosher was presently serving as the Town of Danube Supervisor and served as the Secretary of the Herkimer County Supervisors Association. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend he truly enjoyed his time spent with everyone at the Mosher Kamp in the Town of Stark. He also enjoyed driving his classic Corvette, his Harley Davidson, four wheeler, snowmobile, Stab'n Cabin, and Lil' Turd. He was an avid hunter and lover of the outdoors, and enjoyed camping and traveling with family and friends. Mr. Mosher was employed for 43 years by the Burrows Paper Corp, Little Falls at the Mill Street location retiring as the Asst. Superintendent. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary, his cherished daughters and sons in law, Cara Boepple and her husband Anthony, Little Falls and Alecia Seeley and her husband Aaron, Little Falls, his grandsons, Dylan Boepple and Jordan Seeley and his granddaughter, Adrianna Sohns, his brothers, Leonard Mosher and his wife Barbara Florida, Timothy Mosher and his wife Jill, Little Falls and Dayton Mosher and his wife Felicia, Newville, his sisters, Laurie Kimbrell and her husband JR., Little Falls and Christy Corso and William Smith, Oppenheim and several nieces and nephews, and dearest friends Jim and Karen Malone, Little Falls. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Mosher on October 21, 1948 and by his brother Barry Haggerty on June 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St.’s, Little Falls, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin. Interment will take place at the Ostrander Cemetery, Town of Danube. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services on Friday morning.
