Obituary of Dawn D Mower

LITTLE FALLS - Dawn D. Mower, 77 formerly of Furnace Street, Little Falls and recently a resident of Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, Ilion, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica as her daughter held her hand tight, as she made her transition into Heaven. She was born Dawn Dolores Davis June 18, 1941 in Utica, NY to loving parents the late Richard and Evelyn (Blanchard) Davis. She was educated in the Mohawk School Systems. She had fond memories of growing up in Mohawk and was eager to start her adult life after finishing school in 1959. Mrs. Mower right out of school, started working at Duofold, Mohawk, NY. Then went to work for MDS, Herkimer, NY. Dawn with savings that she earned and her then husband the late Robert Gressler purchased a farm to make her family farm. The family farm was located in Manheim and was called Hillview Farms. She loved raising her family on the farm with many fond memories for all. Mrs. Mower was employed at Allegro Shoe Factory and Assembly Line Operator for the LaSalle Labs, Little Falls for several years until her retirement. She also enjoyed helping her daughter Sandy at her flower shop, Rose Petals Florist, Little Falls. Dawn was united in marriage to Harland Mower in 1996 and she enjoyed 30 years with Harland as she became close with his daughter Patty, son Tommy and late son Teddy Mower and step grandson Michael Mower. She was a proud mother and leaves three sons Edward Sklarz and his wife Patty, Little Falls, John Sklarz and his wife Michelle, Frankfort, Richard Gressler and his wife Michelle, Little Falls, her only daughter Sandra Sklarz and her companion Gerald Skinner, Little Falls, her cherished Grandchildren Jessica and Alicia Sklarz, Shayla and Johnny Sklarz, Adam, Mariyah and Izaiah Gressler, one great granddaughter and one great grandson, a step son Robert Gressler and his wife Shelia, Texas, a step daughter Mary Jo Kersey and her husband Michael, Texas, four brothers Ernie Bastin and his wife Dorothy, Albany, OH, Richard Davis and his wife Elaine, New Hartford, Roy Davis and his wife Wendy, Lexington, KY., James Davis of Liverpool, NY., three sisters Dolores Zaffarano and her husband Rocky, Frankfort, Janine Ritton and her husband Charles, Richfield Springs and Kathy Prevost and her husband Ron, Saratoga, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a Step Son Thomas Gressler, Sr. 1989. Dawn will be greatly missed by all. She was always sweet and loved beautiful hymns sung to her by her sister Janine and soothing talks and loved the massages and songs sung by Gerald as she enjoyed facials and sacred talks with her daughter. They were truly blessed to have their mother all the way to the second the Lord cradled her in his hand. Mama will always be missed and loved until we met again. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY. with Rev. Gary L. Busch, Pastor of the Inghams Mills Baptist church officiating. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours.
