Obituary of Harry W. Casadonte

Town of Danube - Harry W. (Pete) Casadonte, 83 of the Town of Danube, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 9, 2019 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, NY with his devoted family by his side. He was born November 3, 1935 in Herkimer the son of the late Robert W. and Ruth (Vincent) Casadonte. Pete was a graduate of Mohawk High School and attended Cornell University. His marriage to Carole A. Cagwin took place on July 25, 1959 at the Newville Union Church. Mr. Casadonte was a United States Army veteran, enlisting on February 26, 1956 and was honorably discharged on December 17, 1957 with the rank of SP3. Pete was owner and operator of Casadonte Energy Services in Little Falls until his retirement in 2012. A man devoted to his family, Pete's life was centered around his loved ones. He always put the needs and concerns of his wife and children first. He had a great wit and sense of humor that many people admired. He loved being with his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Carole; two daughters, Christine Casadonte and fiancé Dr. Samuel Cooper of Binghamton, NY and Linda Bucenec and Tom Lynch of Mohawk; a son, Andrew Casadonte of Little Falls; a sister, Allison Mushen of Ilion; a brother, James Casadonte and wife Rosemary of Herkimer; three grandsons; Jesse Bucenec of Little Falls, Jonathan Stockton of Norwich, NY and Tyler Stockton and fiancée Chrissie of Auburn, NY; five great grandchildren, Appollonia, Jase, Gabriel(Pete), Liam and Bailey; an uncle; Charlie Casadonte and wife Shirley and several nieces, nephews, cousins, including David Lockwood and wife Nancy. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Nancy Steffen and a brother, Robert Casadonte. A memorial service with full military honors accorded will be held on Saturday February 16, 2019 at 1:00 pm from the Chapman - Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 North Ann St., Little Falls, NY with Reverend Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Houpt Cemetery, in Newville, NY. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday February 16, 2019 from 11:00 am until the time of the services at 1:00 pm. After the service, relatives and friends are invited to the Newville Grange Hall for refreshments and a celebration of Pete’s life. We would appreciate if everyone would bring a dish to pass. In lieu of flowers, all memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
