Obituary of Gerald T. (Ted) Billings

LITTLE FALLS – Gerald T. (Ted) Billings, 83 of the Sunset View Trailer Park, Little Falls passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Little Falls Hospital. He was born on March 30, 1935 in Little Falls the son of the late Gerald T. and Maude (Cottrell) Billings, Sr. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1953 and attended Oswego State Teachers College. On November 28, 1959 he was united in marriage to his wife of 59 years the former Barbara Bond at St. Paul’s Universalist Church Parsonage, Little Falls. Mr. Billings was a veteran of the US Army. Entering the service on July 12, 1956. He served with Co. D, 44th Tank Battalion at Ft. Bragg, NC. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class on June 30, 1962. He was employed for 19 years by the Burrows Paper Corp., Little Falls retiring as the Supervisor of Machine Works. Following his retirement he and his wife Barbara delivered the Evening Times newspaper in the rural areas from Little Falls thru Oppenheim for 12 years. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his sons Daniel A. Billings and his wife Janet, Hopedale, MA and Frederick C. Billings and his wife Michelle, Little Falls, his daughter Teddi L. Noonan and her husband Kenneth, Little Falls, his grandchildren Samuel A. Billings and his fiancé Cassy Sullivan, Danirose Billings, Kali Noonan and Katherine Billings, his sister Linda Janev, Florida, his wife Barbara’s twin sister Beverly Billings, Little Falls and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Dennis in 1998 and by his brother David A. Billings in 2004. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills in the spring of 2019. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Billings be considered to the Hannah Lee House, c/o of the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, 1 Atwell Rd., Cooperstown, NY13326. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Little Falls Fire Department Ambulance EMT’s for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Mr. Billings and his family over the many years.
