Obituary of Cynthia Mills
Mrs. Cynthia Mills, 69, of East Monroe Street, Little Falls, New York died Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown.
Born on November 8, 1950 in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Charles Mess and Irene Starzyk Mess. She was a graduate of East Side High School in Newark, NJ. She spent the past 48 years living on Monroe Street, previously residing in Keany and Newark, NJ.
Cynthia retired from the Little Falls Library after 27 years as a Library Aid, where she enjoyed doing Children’s Story Time.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Little Falls.
Mrs. Mills enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends on Kyser Lake.
On September 4, 1971 in Newark, NJ, Cynthia was married to William Mills.
Her brother, Carl Mess; brothers-in-law, Harvey Mills and Wally Sobolewski; as well as her mother-in-law and father-in-law predeceased her.
Mrs. Mills is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Mills; daughters, Jennifer Szala and her husband Shawn, Amanda Brandt and her husband Joe; sisters, Alice and Walt Ford, Linda and Tom Woods, Charlotte and Bill Ockenhouse, Debbie Rodriquez and Tony, Mary Ellen Sobolewski; brother-in-law, Guy and Judy Mills; 7 grandchildren; Grandsons, Patrick, Shawn, Austin, Steven, Kevin Szala and Chase Brandt, granddaughter Autumn Brandt; as well as several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
