Obituary of Beverley J. Mower

Mrs. Beverley J. Mower, 77, of Herkimer Street, Middleville, New York died Friday, September 17, 2021 at Albany Medical Center. Born on August 22, 1944 in Tunkannock, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Sheffler and Madeline Keithline Sheffler. She was a graduate of West Canada Valley School, Newport, NY, Class of 1962. On June 15, 1963, at the Middleville United Methodist Church, Beverley was married to Arnold G. Mower. Beverley and her husband owned and operated Triple A dairy farm in Little Falls, NY. Prior to purchasing Bev's Diner in Middleville, NY, she worked there for many years. When she was younger she worked for Smith Brothers, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She served as Deputy Mayor for Middleville and served on the Village Board for over 10 years. She was a very active member of Middleville United Methodist Church. Beverley was an active member of the community, creating floats for the local parades. She was a Girl Scout Leader, and was active in Youth Fellowship. In the past she was a member of the Middleville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and on the Middleville Library Board. An infant son, Gordon Arnold Mower predeceased her on May 30, 1964. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Patrick Swank; sisters, Althea Mirabelli, and Shirley Riesel. Mrs. Mower is survived by her husband, Arnold G. Mower; daughters, Audrey (Jeff) Donahoe, Arlene (Clifford) Swank-Dibble; brothers, Samuel Sheffler, Clayton "Sonny" Sheffler, II; her cherished grandchildren, Arnold and Brianne Donahoe, Thomas and Camille Donahoe, Rick Donahoe and Casey Holbert, Allison Donahoe and fiancé, Thomas Oliver, Samuel Donahoe, Seth Donahoe, Richard and Sam Swank, Casey Dibble, Connar Dibble; great-grandchildren, Collin, Colton, Mason, Laiken, Brynnlee, Gordon, James, Gradin, Harland, and a baby Swank girl expected in November; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bev had many cherished friends and special neighbors, Terry Marko and The Comins Family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00AM at Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with Rev. Dwayne Durand officiating. Burial will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery in Little Falls, NY following the service. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 2:00-5:00PM at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Beverley J. Mower may be made to Middleville United Methodist Church.
