Obituary of Sharon L. Polnak
Ms. Sharon L. Polnak, of River Road, Fort Plain, NY died on January 3, 2023, Tuesday evening, at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. She was born on July 31, 1948, in Little Falls, NY the daughter of Kenneth Davis and Evelyn Mang Davis. She was a graduate of West Canada Valley Schools, Class of 1966.
In 2013 she retired from Redco, where she had been working since 2008, as an accounting analyst. Prior to that she had been employed by Beech-Nut from 1980-2008 in the office, spent a short time at the Best Western as a cashier/clerk, and from 1976-1980 had worked as a clerk for JC Penny, and had started her work history in 1974 working as a lunch monitor at the Little Falls School.
On March 25, 1966, she married her children’s father, Joseph Polnak.
In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, camping and flower gardening.
Survivors include her companion of many years, James” Jimmy” Lasher of Fort Plain, NY; son Joseph A. and his wife Katherine Polnak, of Whitesboro; daughter Denise and her husband Michael Tinkler of Marietta, NY; brother Kevin and his wife Jennifer Davis of Dolgeville, NY, sister Karen and her husband Manley Shults of Delhi, NY, sister in law Carrie Davis, of Fairfield, NY; 6 grandchildren Alyssa Hingre, Sarah Hingre, Jaclyn Hingre, Michael Polnak, Joseph C. Polnak, Nicholas Polnak; Jimmy’s children, Matthew James Lasher, James Lee Lasher, Jr., and Kristina Jean Sousa; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased in death by her brother Richard Davis.
The family invites friends and relatives to visitation on Monday January 9th, 2023 from 2:00PM-4:00 PM and from 6:00-8:00PM at the Chapman Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. A funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 10th, 2023, at 11:00AM at the funeral home. With Rev. Varnum Shults officiating. Burial will take place at Rural Park Cemetery, Ingham Mills, NY in the spring.
