Obituary of Gordon Robinson

Mr. Gordon H. Robinson, 83, of Fairfield, NY passed away on July 4, 2023, at St. Lukes hospital, following a brief illness. Born on March 17, 1940, in Utica, NY, the son of Harold S. and Mildred Robinson.

He had lived his entire lifetime in Fairfield, outside of the time he spent in Germany while serving in the US Army. He enlisted in the US Army shortly after his high school graduation, working as a mechanic in the motor pool, repairing all types of vehicles. 

When he returned home, he went to work in the family business, under his father’s direction, repairing everything from snow machines to high power dragsters. In 1983 he took over the business when his father retired.  Everyone who knew him knew he could be found tinkering in his shop or mowing his lawn on one of his many John Deere Garden tractors, which he collected. 

On May 20th, 1967, he married Carol Petkovsek, and together they shared over 50 years of marriage together, with her predeceasing him in death on October 13, 2021. In 1970 they built their home together in Fairfield, and welcomed their son Jerry, on March 9, 1971.  Survivors include Jerry and his wife Teresa; 2 grandsons and their wives; 4 great-grandchildren; and his brother Allan Robinson of California.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no formal services, and arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365.
