Obituary of Raymond Klock
Raymond H. Klock, 87, most recently of Herkimer, NY, passed away on March 31, 2024, at Little Falls Bassett Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Klock was born on April 14, 1936, in Fort Plain, NY, the son of the late Irvin and Irene (Case) Klock. He was predeceased by his brother, Roger Klock, his sister, and her husband, Ruth and Richard Welch. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jo A.
(Murphy) Klock; daughter Jodi (David) Hallenbeck, daughter Lisa (Patrick) Reardon; son Timothy (Dawn) Klock, and daughter Linda Klock; sister Charlotte Johnson; grandchildren Shelby (Jason) Campione, Sara Reardon, Nicole Klock, Patrick Reardon,
Martin Klock; great-grandchildren, Jase and Jameson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In 1953, he graduated from Fort Plain High School, then attended SUNY Cobleskill, where he obtained his associate's degree in 1955. Following graduation, he joined the US Army, serving two years at Fort Sheridan, Chicago. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he started working at General Electric, where he stayed for 37 years and retired as an Electrical Engineer. He was a member of the Herkimer Reformed Church, and had served as an Elder and managed the finance department for a period. He was a voracious reader and a lifelong walker. He enjoyed keeping busy and, over the years, was involved in many activities, including bowling, golfing, cross-country skiing, hiking, camping, snowmobiling, hunting,
fishing, and kayaking. He enjoyed all sports and watching SU football & basketball, the Buffalo Bills, NY Giants and NY Mets. He especially enjoyed watching his kids and then his grandchildren’s sporting events. He volunteered for the Boy Scouts and was an Assistant Troop Leader and completed 5 Adirondack High Peaks with his son’s scout troop. He was involved with 4H and had a hobby farm.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at 10:00 am, at the Herkimer Reformed Church, 102 Church Street, Herkimer, NY 13350. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Little Falls, NY. Arrangements are entrusted to Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365.
