Mrs. Martha J. Davis, 83, most recently of Herkimer, NY, passed away on July 18th, 2024, at the Foltsbrook Center.

She was born on February 19, 1941, in Fort Covington, NY, the daughter of the late Burton L. Sherman and Josephine Elizabeth Hyde, who predeceased her.

Martha graduated from Mohawk Central High School in the class of 1960.

Martha lived for her family, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She attended the Assembly of God of Curtiss Corners, loved sharing her gift of music with area churches, including the times she sang in the choir, volunteered in many programs, started a sports and summer program for area children, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed music and animals.

Her husband, Leonard Alvin Davis, predeceased her, as did her brother Lester Sherman, sister Clara, and an infant sister.

Survivors include her son Christopher and his wife, Beverly Davis; daughters Christine Ellis Beth Schorer and Crystal and her husband William Leon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services, and cremation is under the direction of Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365.

Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution, please do so to a charity of ones choice in her memory.
