Obituary of Terry Lamphere

Mr. Terry Lamphere, Sr., 72, of Groff Road, Palatine Bridge, NY, passed away following a brief illness on October 16, 2024, at St. Mary's Healthcare, Amsterdam, NY.

Terry was born in Dolgeville, NY, on May 10, 1952, the son of Eugene A. and Loretta H. Johnson Lamphere.

He attended Dolgeville Schools and lived in the valley his entire life.

Early on, Terry worked as a farmer, then at Remmington Arms and as a logger. He also spent some time tanning leather, then worked at Rawlings in Dolgeville and finally at North Hudson Woodcraft of Dolgeville, retiring at age 70.

Terry was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also a member of the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club.

He was predeceased in death by his parents and brothers Larry Lamphere, August 28, 2018, and Richard G. Lamphere, Sr., October 19, 1985.

Survivors include his girlfriend Rosie Hoffman; sons Terry Lee Lamphere, Jr. (Becky), Michael G. Lamphere (Tanya), Corey Palmer, and Toby L. Lamphere (Stacey), Todd Lamphere and Jeremy Lamphere; brother Gary G. Lamphere (Vicky Dager), sisters Beatrice Farnell, Nechia Dieffenbacher, Hazel Miller (Allen), Pearl Tomasino, Kathy Chrisman, Janice Walrath (David); 22 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; his faithful dog Sasha; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Stratford Cemetery, 163 Cemetery Road, Stratford, NY 13470, with Rev. Chris Wintermute officiating.
