Dear Family of Phyllis:
Ruthie and I wish to convey our sadness for your loss and our prayers for grace and faith in your grieving.
My (Paul) mother and Phyllis' mother were cousins and best friends and they lived in the same condominium building here in Toronto towards the end of their lives and greatly enjoyed one another's company.
It's always nice to hear how loved people were during their lives and it is clear that Phyllis was one of those who was deeply loved.
Although death is, in appearance, the most final of separations we know on earth, we are thankful and reassured that there is no separation for the person who places her faith in the Lord of Creation, the Jesus of the cross.
As the apostle Paul reminded us, "Eyes haven't seen, ears haven't heard and it has not entered into the understanding or imagination of people the things that God has prepared for those who love him".
With love, Paul and Ruth.

Dear Ruth and all of Phyllis' family, Our hearts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. As I was thinking of her passing, the words of this mid-19th century hymn by George Matheson came to me:
"O Love that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul in Thee; I give thee back the life I owe, that in thine ocean depths its flow may richer, fuller be.
O Light that foll'west all my way, I yield my flick'ring torch to Thee; My heart restores its borrowed ray, that in thy sunshine's blaze its day may brighter, fairer be."
May you find comfort in the arms of Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life for all who trust in him. Much love, Chris and Marny (second cousin from Nova Scotia)

Phyllis was a steadfast nurse with lots of knowledge. She used that knowledge in various nursing administration positions and always cared very much for the well being of the residents and patients. She had a quick wit and was fun to be around. To her family and friends, she will be missed and it was a pleasure to know her.

I'm so sorry to hear of Phyllis' passing. She and I met up for our last class reunion in 2012, and it was so nice to learn that we had a great deal in common.
You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
