Obituary of Phyllis J Barlow

HERKIMER- Phyllis J. Barlow, 65,of 212 Steuben Street, Herkimer passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Faxton-St.Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford, NY. Phyllis was born on January 24, 1949 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was the youngest daughter of the late Dr. John C. Barlow and his wife, the late Jean (Sangster) Barlow. Phyllis was a 1967 graduate of Clarkstown Senior High School in New City, NY and a 1969 graduate of Rockland Nursing School. Phyllis was employed as a Registered Nurse for 45 years at facilities throughout the Mohawk Valley. Her last employment was at Folts Home in Herkimer. She enjoyed and was accomplished on the piano, organ and trumpet. She was also an avid reader and a proud Canadian. Phyllis is survived by one son, David Wood of Herkimer and two daughters; Lisa Johnson (Al) of Lake Pleasant, NY, and Lori Driscoll (Terence) of Northville, NY. She is also survived by her sister Ruth McClure (David) of Markham, Ontario, along with her nephew, Aaron McClure of St. Thomas, Ontario. Additionally, she is survived by nine grandchildren; Keenan Wood, Aiden Wood, Jaimee Baker, Jacob Wood, Kelly Driscoll, Kaitlyn Driscoll, Ruth Johnson, Daniel Johnson and Ezra Johnson. She was loved by all and will be missed by all, including her beloved faithful canine companion, Polo. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 4 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Ed Hart, pastor of Adirondack Bible Chapel, Piseco, NY officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills later in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 2-4 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
