Mr Gillette was my English teacher when I attended Troy High School. I was in the class of 1959. I remember Mr Gillette both as a wonderful teacher and as a great football coach. He used to race me up three flights of stairs to our third floor classroom immediately after fire drills. I only saw him once after I graduated at a event at the high school gymnasium where retired gym teachers and coaches were introduced. Mr Gillette remains in my memory as one of the teachers who made my stay at Troy High School an enjoyable one.

My condolences to the Gillette Family. Mr Gillette was my English teacher at Troy High in 1966, he was a good teacher with a dry sense of humor. At Christmas that year I wrote a poem to him, Mr. Scrooge Gillette and he responded with a poem set to May The Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose. I still have that and laugh often when reading it. RIP Mr. Gillette.

To the family of Mr. Gillette: I am sorry to learn of Mr. Gillette's passing. I had him as an English teacher at Troy High School during the early 1960's. He was a great teacher with a good sense of humor. He will be missed by those who had him as a teacher and friend.

Mr. Gillette was my English teacher at Troy High School in the 1975 - 1976 school year. Although he never knew it, nor did I at the time, he changed my life. For some reason, Mr. Gillette recommended me for the THS yearbook staff (The Dardanian) that year. I was lucky enough to be asked to serve on that staff, which is where I made a number of lifelong and very dear friends, including my wife of almost 32 years. THANK YOU, and may God grant you peace, Mr. Gillette. My condolences to his family and friends.

I am very sorry to hear of Jigger's passing. I worked with him doing water monitoring of the Hamilton County lakes for several years while I was in college back in the 80s. We went sample collecting together, and then I did the chemistry back in the lab. I still have a poster that the county did for some pr work of us in the bright orange boat. He was a good mentor and a good friend. I will remember him fondly. I am very sorry for your loss.

A familiar face from my childhood; a friend in my adulthood. A cherished friend and devoted father to his sons and my two daughters. So kind and loving and understanding of teenagers and the adults they became. And you played a so very important role in all their developments. I shall cherish your love of them for all time. Thank you- Janet/
