I am so sorry to read of Ann’s passing. She was very kind to me when we were at the Conservatory, and although we weren’t at all I touch all these years, I often thought of her and always remembered her with fondness.

I was a viola student of Ann's at CMCB for many years and I have countless fond memories of learning under her. My own young daughter just started playing viola this school year and I would have loved to share this with Ann. I fell out of touch with her long ago as I have been living out of the country for almost a decade. I am so sorry to hear of her passing.

Ann was a wonderful person and violin teacher. I remember always looking forward to my lessons with her, and her cat pippin bringing me delight as he would curl up in my violin case while we practiced. She was always so kind and made learning violin so enjoyable. She will be missed and her love of music will live on I the many students she inspired.

Ann was a great teacher during my years as a student. I learned a lot of new techniques and was able to continue practicing my viola. She was very nice and taught things very well. Thanks to Ann I was able to make the Junior District this year. She gave a lot of helpful comments during string seminar when we played our pieces. I thank you Ann, for all the things you've taught me and I will cherish them.

Ann was a beloved colleague and cherished friend. She was a fine violinist and musician who was insatiably curious and always eager to learn more about her art. We had many long conversations about composers, performers, books, and art. Many of these fascinating encounters were bolstered with coffee, drinks, or a fine meal, for she was as judiciously selective about food and drink as she was about music and books. Along with other friends who were professional musicians, Ann played chamber music regularly. We discovered much that was new to us during these quartet sessions that often went long into the night. Ann was a joyous, positive, and enthusiastic person who always left you feeling better than when you arrived. We all will miss her.

When my granddaughter, Celia (Cece) Ross-Tropea, decided to study violin, I could not think of a kinder, more talented teacher for Cece than Ann. CeCe proudly participated in Performathons and enjoyed her lessons immensely. I was always pleased to have brief chats with Ann as we bumped into each other at the Community Music Center. I felt so much better after seeing her smiling face.

Ann was my violin lesson since i was 11 years old. She taught me so much and made the violin fun I learned so much from her. She was a light at CMCB and I always appreciated her kindness and how much she cared about me and my future. She was an amazing violinist, trio conductor, and teacher and most important to me a friend. To honor her memory I dedicated 3 drawings to her. I’ll always cherish the time we spent together.

Ann was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known - and an excellent musician to boot.
Wishing all the best for her family and friends.

Ann and I were country kids who rode a bus to school. We spent our younger days at each other’s houses. She was a very sensitive and quiet person. I will always remember her as a good childhood friend. Rest in light and grace my friend.
