Dear Jane and Family,
First, condolences to all of you for your loss. You could always tell how much Linda loved her family.
As we all know, Linda was an amazing teacher, conductor, trumpet player, singer, and ensemble player. You couldn't be around her without learning about music and teaching. I learned more about teaching from Linda than I did in graduate school.
It was an honor to spend 23 years working beside Linda. Her professional generosity, help, knowledge, kindness, support, and encouragement were appreciated more than she probably ever knew.
Over the years Linda, Bill Reynolds and I spent countless hours working together. We had many great teaching moments working as a team to build the music program and we also laughed a lot when time permitted. We heard many stories about her farm and raising sheep and having horses. Many of those stories were funny, of course. As most people know, Linda could crack you up just with her laugh!
Linda (or as the kids would say, Ms. Helterline, Miss H, or H!),
You were very loved and you will be missed. Thank you for everything! Next time we meet I look forward to laughing and playing music with you again.
Love,
Glenn Ceglia

I am still in shock about Linda and so sorry to see her leaving us. We all enjoyed her so in my Dixieland Band and that laugh, was infectious. She was quiet at times but once you got her going she was so much fun. When we were practicing with the Dixielanders, you never knew what was coming next with Linda. Most of the time was - don't rush so inbetween songs!!!! I know it's hard for one trumpet player to do a whole gig but she managed. She was such as asset to the group. Even when she couldn't play with us anymore I missed her so much. God Bless you up in heaven Linda and keep playing that trumpet but don't pull it out too far better tuning up there! Helen
