Obituary of Linda M. Helterline
Miss Linda M. Helterline, 71, of County Road 104, Stratford, NY, passed away on August 6, 2022, at Valley Health Services. Linda was the daughter of the late Russell J and the late Ruth Kiner Helterline. Linda was a graduate of Dolgeville Central School, class of 1969, she then obtained her bachelor’s degree in music from Houghton College, she then obtained her master’s degree from SUNY.
She had a 30 plus year teaching career at Dolgeville School, instructing both vocal and instrumental. She also always looked forward to directing the pit orchestra the annual Dolgeville Musical.
Linda had lived in Stratford since 1975, operating a “gentleman’s farm”, which was owned by her family the owners of Helterline Hardwood Lumber and Sawmill.
She was proud to have held the office of Stratford Councilwoman for a short time, and was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, in Little Falls, NY.
Everyone who knew her knew of her love of animals, her husbandry at her farm with horses and sheep, and her love of music.
Survivors include her sister Jane Malin (passed on 12/26/2022) and Jack Pyle of Utica, NY; cousins Gail Bromley of California, Mark Foster of North Carolina; 2nd cousins Kristen Wang , Chad Foster, and Brent Foster.
A Memorial Service will be held for both Jane and Linda on Friday May 12th, 2023 at 4:00PM at Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365, with a visatation prior from 2:00-4:00PM.
